Thirdly, the background will randomly shift horizontally compared to what the preview shows. Even if I use a different picture that mostly fits the preview, it will still be too big for the ACTUAL Lock Screen. Secondly, the image will always be zoomed in MORE than what the preview shows. This is baffling, since the picture was specifically sized for smartphone screens, and even a slight difference in ratio should be insufficient to prevent this picture from fitting the Pixel, (at least with black borders). A great deal of the picture's edges are cut off (so much that some characters are completely off-screen in the case of the image linked above). The typical "pinching" gesture causes the image to zoom out for a second, and then pop back to its original size (which doesn't fit).
